My Reflections on Education
These three action steps are based on sound scientific studies on happiness. When we practice gratitude and praise or we purposely change our focus to the positive, we release chemicals in the brain that are connected to happiness. These three action steps are just ways to trigger the release of these happy chemicals.
These may not be the most professional-sounding statements and probably aren’t on any list of best practices, but to me they are so helpful as they remind me to put less pressure on myself because the fate of everything does not rest in my classroom.
Doubt can sometimes be a powerful tool to help us grow. It is good to question our beliefs and actions. It is important to stop and reflect on what we feel isn’t going well or what we feel uncomfortable with.
